Noam Menczel – CEO Seambiotic, Israel
Resume:
Noam joined Seambiotic in 2007, initially as Director of Business Development and Investor Relations and then in 2010 he became the Chief Executive Officer. Noam’s career includes over 30 years in Finance, Commerce and Administration of multinational companies. From 2000 to 2006 Noam was the CFO and Vice President of Finance & Administration of Lenslet Ltd. Prior to Lenslet, Noam was CFO and the Director of Operations at AbirNet Ltd. Noam also held a position at Memco Ltd which he helped in its listing on NASDAQ and in its subsequent sale to CA. Further back, Noam held finance positions in Gottex Industries & Merit Industries both in the U.S.A. & Koor Industries companies in Israel. Noam holds a degree in accounting and finance from Tel-Aviv University.
Noam has been involved in the following projects
- First commercial project is in China - Strategic partner is one of China’s largest electric power companies. Phase 1 consist of 120,000m². plant, construction due to be completed Q2/2011
- Seambiotic has partnered with a number of companies and research institutes to further develop microalgae cultivation: Partner included are with NASA, Major European Oil companies, Major USA National labs: NREL and Sandia, among others
- Seambiotic established in 2005 a pilot project in Ashkelon Israel comprising about a 1,000m² of ponds at the coal fire power plant
Below are some of his success stories
- Developed a unique technology for cultivating microalgae using flue gas as a source of carbon
- Patents were already approved in Australia and South Africa. Rest of the world - in process
- Unique business model through setting up JV and licenses of our IP to global companies’ worldwide
- China - Strategic partner is one of China’s largest Electric Power Companies
- Japan - The birthplace of the technology came to Seambiotic to sign license and joint venture agreement. Pilot plant to be constructed in 2011 followed by commercial plant in 2011/2
- USA Corn Belt- License Agreement & MOU signed with major Steel Corporation to grow algae and replace subsidized corn
