2.2.2 Emerging industrial production of Nannochloropsis microalgae biomass around the world

A large number of companies is starting the production of Nannochloropsis microalgae for aquaculture applications and for oil / EPA extraction. The current status of the most relevant - top 30 - companies will be described with evidences of their present development. Further on AlgaFarm - designed, built and operated by A4F in Portugal - will be shown. AlgaFarm is currently the largest outdoor microalgae photobioreactor with + 1.300.000 liter culture volume in operation.
